Here’s what you should know about Reiki, guided meditation, and Hypno-Reiki.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese energy-based practice centered on the idea of life-force energy. Within Reiki tradition, energy flows through and around the body, and Reiki practitioners are trained to work with that energy to support balance, relaxation, and well-being.

At RHW, Reiki is a quiet, restorative experience. There’s nothing you need to do, figure out, or work through.

You can get comfortable in bed, curl up on the couch, or settle into whatever space feels good to you. Light music plays while Heather offers Reiki from a distance, allowing most of the experience to remain quiet and restful.

What does virtual Reiki mean?

Reiki does not require the practitioner and recipient to be physically together. Distance Reiki is the practice of offering Reiki when you are in different locations.

Within Reiki practice, life-force energy is understood to not be limited by physical distance.

Heather’s first Reiki experience was virtual with a practitioner across the country. She went into it skeptical but curious. That experience eventually led her to study Reiki and become a Reiki Master.

What might I experience?

There isn’t one “right” way to experience Reiki.

Some people become deeply relaxed or sleepy. Some notice warmth, tingling, colors, imagery, or other sensations. Some simply notice that they feel quieter or more rested. And some don’t notice anything particularly unusual while Reiki is happening.

You don’t have to concentrate, clear your mind, visualize anything correctly, or try to make something happen.

Your job is basically to get comfortable.

Guided Meditation

Heather guides your attention using relaxation, imagery, and focused prompts.

Your mind may wander. You may get distracted. You may realize you haven’t heard the last three sentences.

That’s okay. You can’t mess it up.

When you notice your attention has wandered, simply come back to Heather’s voice.

There’s nothing you need to visualize perfectly, no special level of focus you need to reach, and no “right” way to meditate.

You can’t do it wrong.
